GEORGINA BARNARD

Georgina's dance training originated at the Barbican Theatre Plymouth, where she started her contemporary dance and performance training. This also allowed her to perform in many productions which culminated in a curtain raiser for Exim Dance Company choreographed by Lucy Freeman and allowed her to be involved in a workshop led by Avent Garde Dance, learning material from their piece 'Fagin's Twist' (2018). From studying A-Level Dance at Exeter College to studying BA (Hons) Dance at Middlesex University, Georgina has gained the fundamentals of Jazz, Ballet and Urban technique but also specialised in contemporary techniques such as Humphrey, Cunningham, Graham and Release techniques. She has also gained experience in creating and performing pieces inspired by films at Exeter College such as, 'Wizard of Oz' (2019), and Jazz pieces incuding, 'Mein Heir' (2018) and 'Back to Black (2018), choreographed by Emma Wyke. While at Middlesex University, Georgina has created a screen dance 'Take Me Home' (2022) and performed in a number of contemporary performances including 'Acts of Light' (2022) re-imagined by Sarah Sulemanji, 'Pieces, Pieces' (2022) a creative facilitation by Siân Hopkins, and '[IN]dependence3' and 'Herd Immunity' (2023) choreographed by Charlotte Wade. Georgina has just completed a placement with Dobladnaza, as an understudy and assisting with administration for their performance of 'Manifiesta' (2024) that was part of the Resolution festival at the Place. Georgina is currently finishing her degree at Middlesex University, and i looking forward to continuing her training and auditioning for contemporary dance companies and cruise ships.
